Combined VSO/CSO/FSO

Combined Vessel, Company, and Facility Security Officer Course (MARAD & USCG
approved)

We currently have courses scheduled for October 18-21, 2011 in Dania Beach, and December 6-9, 2011 in Boca Raton, Florida USA.

This 3 1/2-day course is designed to prepare company, vessel, and facility supervisory personnel to function effectively as a Company, Ship/Vessel, or (Port) Facility Security Officer. The course provides them with the necessary knowledge and skills for designation as a Security Officer and fully meets the training requirements established both in the MTSA implementing regulations, sections 104.210, 104.215, 105.205, 106.205, and 106.210 of 33 Code of Federal Regulations, and in ISPS Code sections B13.1, B13.2, and B18.1.

The course offers a blend of up-to-date threat information, effective security practices, accurate regulatory provisions, and risk-based assessment techniques, delivered through a balance of lectures, multimedia presentations, interactive activities, group exercises, and knowledge assessment. It also includes detailed training on the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) regulations. Our experience has shown that the interaction among attendees from different segments of the maritime industry increases the instructional benefit of this course compared to courses focused on one type of Security Officer.

Those who successfully complete the course will receive a USCG/MARAD approved certificate that meets STCW requirements. They will also be awarded 2.8 Continuing Education Units by the Florida Institute of Technology.
