This course, which has been approved by the Transportation Security Directorate of the UK Ministry for Transport (TRANSEC), prepares port and facility supervisory personnel to perform the duties of a Port Facility Security Officer effectively and provides them with the necessary knowledge and skills for designation as Port Facility Security Officers. This three-day course fully satisfies the training requirements established in section B18.1 of the ISPS Code.

The course combines up-to-date threat information, accurate regulatory provisions, risk-based assessment techniques, and effective security practices. The instructional methodologies used in the course include lectures, interactive activities, group exercises, multimedia presentations, and knowledge assessment.

Successful completion of the course results in issuance to the individual of a TRANSEC- approved certificate, as well as the award of 2.1 Continuing Education Units by Florida Institute of Technology.
