This three-day course has been approved by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and is designed to prepare seafarers to function effectively as Ship Security Officer. The course provides them with the necessary knowledge and skills for designation as Ship Security Officers and fully meets the training requirements established in both section B13.2 of the ISPS Code and section A-VI/5 of the STCW
Code.
The courses offer a blend of up-to-date threat information, effective security practices, accurate regulatory provisions, and risk-based assessment techniques, delivered through a balance of lectures, multimedia presentations, interactive activities, group exercises, and knowledge assessment.
Those who successfully complete the course will receive an MCA-approved certificate that meets STCW requirements. They will also be awarded 2.1 Continuing Education Units by Florida Institute of Technology.
We currently have combined courses scheduled for October 18-21 in Dania Beach, and December 6-9, 2011 in Boca Raton, Florida USA.
